Where's Kwisty?

Me: Remi, Christy and Hannah are coming this weekend to see Remi.

Remi: Where's Kwisty?

Me: Christy is at home getting ready to bring Hannah this weekend to play with Remi.

Remi: But, where's Kwisty?

Me: She'll be here on Saturday with Hannah. Are you excited?

Remi: I excited but Mom, where's Kwisty?

Me: Kwisty's in a 4 day traffic jam. She won't be here until Saturday.

Remi: Where's my purse?

Invitation Only, NO PARENTS ALLOWED!!

I bought Remi her own electric sweeper. I use it at least 4 times a day because lately, she spills things accidentially on purpose. This morning when I got home from work Remi was in time out. I never got an explanation. Her father just abandoned his parental post and made a bee line for the nearest exit as soon as both my feet were inside the door.

The reason for Remi's punishment was within the stomach of her new electric sweeper.

I opened it and inside I found 7 dust bunnies, a pound of uncooked rice and about one half cup of Sydney's oatmeal cereal. I let Remi out of time out when she explained to me what had really happened.

Her plans were to have a party. She sent an invitation to 10 of her closest dust bunny friends. Three of them were a no show. The other 7 brought rice and Remi provided the oatmeal. Everything was going fine and everyone was having a good time until Remi's dad crashed the party with her new electric sweeper.

Sibling Rivalry

Yesterday, Mollymaids came to the house to do the every other week spring cleaning. The house, even if only for a couple of hours, was clean and tidy. Late last night Cassidy came down stairs to make popcorn. Remi ran to the kitchen when she heard the first kernel pop. Popcorn is one of the only three foods she will eat these days.

A few minutes later I entered the room. Let me set the scene. Cassidy was standing beside the microwave with the bag of popcorn. Remi was there too. She was on her tip-toes and facing Cassidy. In between them was some popcorn that had spilled and it was crumbled into a million pieces.

Me: Cassidy, which one of you spilled the popcorn?

Remi: POPCORN! POPCORN! PREASE!

Cassidy: Hmmm. Ummm.

Me: CASSIDY, Who's to blame here? If it was you take ownership and clean up your mess.

Remi: POPCORN! POPCORN!

Cassidy: It was her. Remi is responsible. Well, I spilled it but Remi stomped it and spread it all over the place.

Cassidy cleans up the mess then proceeds to head back upstairs. Remi tries to follow her but is quickly redirected to the kitchen by her big sister. Remi has a temper tantrum.

Cassidy: Remi stay down here.

Remi: I go prease.

Cassidy: NO! Stay with Mommy.

Me: Cassidy, are you really trying to instigate sibling rivalry with your baby sister. She's two.

Cassidy: Well, she started it.

White Flag

I am officially throwing up the white flag and taking serious steps to enroll Remi in Reform School Preschool. It wasn't an easy decision for me but, she is expanding way too much negative energy by being a "stay at home daughter". For instance, yesterday she poured a just opened super sized box of baby cereal on the living room floor and then proceeded to spread it around the room like she was frosting a cake. "Why did you do that Remi?" I asked. "Why did you do that Remi?" She said. I was feeling a little apprehensive about my decision so I called Momma.

Me: I was thinking its time Remi enrolled in Preschool.

Momma: How far away is the Preschool from your house?

Me: 3 miles.

Momma: Well, I am sure you did your homework. Did you do background checks on all potential persons that will come in contact with Remi?

Me: Yes but, here's a more important question....Did they do a background check on her?

REMI, WHERE ARE YOU?

This morning I woke up at 242 out of a deep sleep and felt like something wasn't right. I immediately checked the babies. Sydney was asleep in her cradle and Remi, who should have been in her crib, was missing in action. I didn't panic at first. I just figured she woke up and was with her dad watching the Olympics. I made a mad dash to the family room and found Moneybags fast asleep with the TV blasting a rerun of the opening ceremonies. Remi, was nowhere in sight. I panicked big time, not for her safety, but, for the safety of others. I yelled her name to the top of my lungs three times. Then, I heard Cassidy. "Mom, she's up here." "What do you mean she's up there?" "Are you ok?" I asked her. "Yes, but, how did she get out of her bed and up here?" She asked. "She must of used her Super Baby Wonder Powers to levitate to your room." I answered.

Goodbye Favorite Gadget

Last Sunday morning my 4 year old point and shoot digital camera was destroyed. Remi is responsible and I am the only eye witness. Its partly my fault because I acknowledged that she was playing with it by saying: "Remi! Why do you have mommy's camera in your hand?" This was a big mistake on my part because when she is caught red handed with something that is off limits, she throws it on impulse. Unfortunately, this time was no exception. I ran, in what seemed like slow motion, and tried to save it from the ceramic tile. I was too late and now, my favorite gadget in the whole world is in gadget heaven. I can't bring myself to give it a proper disposal. So, for now, its in an old shoe box where it will remain until "they" find a cure.
